Captain Patch Returns (Sort of)

A neat new addition to the Mego Museum Super Pirates Gallery.

Captain Patch was recycled by an anonymous toy distributor in the mid seventies to get rid of excess Matchbox "Fighting Furies" outfits. The figure was often just shoved into an existing outfit (as seen above). The head is a reverse of the Mego head (Meaning his eye patch is on the other eye), his outfit consists of Jean LaFite's clothes and his body is the exact same as Captain Eagle, who was marketed with spare Action Jackson outfits. Photo courtesy of Bill Frost.

The 1974 Mego Planet of the Apes Show Room

A rather epic addition today to our Planet of the Apes Galleries, the first (but hopefully not last) known shot of the 1974 Mego Toyfair showroom featuring the Planet of the Apes action figures and Doctor Cornelius himself (obviously one of the store appearance suits) click on the image for a larger view.
