Vintage Mego: Planet of the Apes Fortress

This week's Vintage Mego puts together the giant Mego Planet of the Apes Fortress Playset from 1975 and lets you get a good look at what's inside.

We also talk about the sales numbers for the Mego Planet of the Apes range and discover that Apes were very popular even after the TV had come and gone.

Mego Demonstration in Spain

A fun little bit of Foreign Mego history for a Friday afternoon. This fun addition to the Megomuseum Ad Archive for Spanish Mego distributor Poch comes to us from sister site Foreign Mego Archive.

Dinah Mite seems to be the only lady at this square dance and the Solider Ape looks lonely.

Vote for the Next Mego Museum Trading Card

We're doing it a little differently this time. Scott has provided some roughs for some new trading cards. We can't do them all this year but we have space to do a few.

So, we're asking your opinion on which cards should be finished and sent to print, read all about it here:

The Mego Star Trek Telescope

Today we're kicking off a wild week of Star Trek prototypes with the telescope, one of many science based items Mego pitched in 1976 that sadly didn't make it to market. All week we'll be featuring never released photographs of unproduced Star trek items including a never before seen playset.

Aquaman VS the Great White Shark Sticker

As an added bonus to the 1978 REImagined Catalog (currently on sale) we've included this little tribute to this rare item which coincedentally was released in 1978 by Mego.

I recently noticed that in the catalog we had dropped Aquaman from the WGSH line up, so this is kind of making up for that.

The 1978 ReImagined Catalog is available to order from the Megomuseum right now. Limited quantites are available.Click here for more details!
