A fabulous update at the MegoMuseum Magna Heroes Gallery today, courtesy of Mark Huackabone we have shots of the proposed American series of cards for the four heroes.
This Magnetic bad boy only saw release in Europe sadly, the "Magna Heroes" line never got enough buyer support in the U.S.
Our Mego spotlight goes to Magnetic Superman, the interchangable figure that borrowed it's concept from the Micronauts. Mego Trivia: The US came close to having these, Mego pitched them hard and even created North American packaging for this figures which sold well in Italy."I'll never forget the day they came to me with the Torino from Starsky and Hutch and asked me if I could make it look like the General Lee!"
Tory Mucaro has one of the more unqiue stories when it comes to his tenure at Mego, hired by John McNett while still in high school, he learned his trade at the Mego research and development department.
Tory was kind enough to share with us some of his recollections about those happy times and by doing so revealed many things not known about Mego. He has also graciously provided photographs of his many projects for us to enjoy. Check out the Megomuseum interview with Tory Mucaro, it's sure to be one your favourites.
New to the Museum today is this ultra rare production sample of a Magna Heroes Batman, we came close to getting these in North America but for some reason it didn't happen.
