Bif Bang Pow Unveils More from the Twilight Zone

Two killer toys from Bif Bang Pow!

Won't you give Talky Tina and Willie a try?

SDCC Exclusive action figures based on the The Twilight Zone TV series!
Feature retro, vintage-style sculpting with authentic fabric clothing.
Entertainment Earth Comic-Con San Diego 2010 Exclusive! Faithful followers of the iconic The Twilight Zone TV series have reason to rejoice. Bif Bang Pow! brings an astonishing assortment of fully articulated, 8-inch tall action figures to your table. Each extraordinarily lifelike character features authentic fabric clothing and a retro design that's sure to please fans of the most popular action figures of the 1970s. These figures come individually carded in blister packaging.

This Series 3 set includes 2 individually packaged action figures (subject to change):
1x Talky Tina
1x Willie

Long before Chucky, there was Talky Tina, star of one of the most spine-chilling episodes of The Twilight Zone ever aired. In the show titled "Living Doll" that also starred Telly Savalas, Tina kept coming back and coming back, no matter what he did to try to destroy her. If you remember that frightening episode, you may think twice before ordering this item. But don't worry. After all, she's only an innocent, 8-inch tall action figure… or is she? Tina features fabric clothing, multiple points of articulation, and a retro design right out of the 1970s!

Based on the ultra-eerie 1962 The Twilight Zone episode titled "The Dummy" that starred Cliff Robertson, this almost-too-real rendering of Willie may make your skin crawl. But no need to feel threatened. This Willie is simply an action figure, fully articulated and standing 8-inches tall. He comes in actual fabric clothing and is designed after very popular action figures of the 1970s. Won't you give Willie a try?

Attending San Diego Comic-Con July 21-25, 2010? Just stop by booth #2343 and be the first to pick up this item anywhere. No need to order now. (Prices and availability subject to change.)

Can't make it to Comic-Con? Order now for shipment after the convention (while supplies last).

77 Mego Order Form Part 2: Loving the Micronauts!

Another find from the smelly box of musty old paperwork.
It's page four of the 1977 Mego Order Form complete with the thoughts of the toy buyer, it's interesting to see what the thought process was at the time. Click on the image for a better look:

As we can see here, somebody was crazy for the Micronauts and with good reason too, Mego spent the money on TV advertising to make sure that this line became a household word.

A 1977 Mego Order Form with Buyer's Notes

In a box of very musty paperwork comes this wonderful bit of Mego history. It's a 1977 Mego Order Form complete with the thoughts of the toy buyer, it's interesting to see what the thought process was at the time. Click on each image for a better look:

Page One The buyer seems impressed with the two million dollar Cher TV promotion but not the items that won't have commercials. Apparently he doesn't care for Jaclyn Smith or Lindsay Wagner much...

Page Two No love for the Star Trek Mission to Gamma 6 Playset and the Science Kits are labelled "Difficult Item" but the Trekulator is great? CB Mchaul is a total no go but there is much love for the Wayne Foundation.

Page Three A lot of lines like Our Gang and One Million BC get shot down but Muhammad Ali, Starsky and Hutch and King Kong get gold stars. Most interesting is the thumbs up for the abandoned Comic Action Spiderman Tower playset, too bad more buyers didn't think that way.....

Mego Ad: 1970

This rather inconspicous ad is from a 1970 toy trade publication, buried deeply in the back. Within three years Mego was taking out the front page of almost every toy industry publication and would remain doing so until the close of the decade.
