The Never Produced 12" Diecast Superman

From his recent, excellent interview with John and Linda McNett, Benjamin Holcomb uncovered an interesting bit of information about a 12" Diecast Superman prototype John had created and pitched but he believed never saw production.

What transpired after the fact makes the story even more interesting and gives real insight into how fast and furious the toy world really is.

Please check out the Never Produced 12" Crushing Arms Superman Article and let us know your thoughts on the Mego Forums.

The Mego Museum Spotlight on John and Linda McNett

2xl was one of the many items produced by Mego under the supervision of John McNett

Our own Benjamin Holcomb, author of the upcoming "World's Greatest Toys" conducted a series of interviews with John and Linda McNett, two people with a long history with Mego Corporation.

Linda was the former assistant to Neal Kublan and John the director of design, to paraphrase Ben, both John and Linda had significant involvement at Mego, and John's impact on the world of toys in general, is impressive.

During the process of this interview, Ben made an interesting Mego discovery that we will elaborate more on later in the week.

Thanks to Ben for putting together this incredible piece and of course, to the McNett family for allowing us this candid look into their lives and careers.

The Mego Museum Accessory Check Reproduction Idenification Section is now open!

want to know if your Mego Batman has 100 percent original parts, now you can check at the Mego Museum
Since the Mego Museum, the most common questions revolve around
what accessories came with a certain figure, what a particular part
looks like, and mostly the question has been "How can I tell if
this part is original or
reproduction?"

That is why it is such a pleasure to to unveil the Mego Museum's latest collector resource, the Mego Accessory Check.

The Accessory Check is a guide book for collectors, to help them
identify original parts and distinguish them from reproductions.

Through the use of photographs and thorough descriptions, collectors can now judge for themselves.

This new resource shall soon be available for other 8" Mego lines but today we launch the most requested chapter, the WGSH section.

Credit for this new section goes to our own Dave McCormick who under the guidance of Scott Adams, tirelessly created a great new resource that will be an invaluable reference tool for years to come.

Thanks a million guys!

Updates to the Mego Logan's Run Gallery

Mego Logans run only at the Mego Museum

Did some fine tuning to the Mego Museum Logans Run page, including adding more detailed shots of the REM and Francis 7 prototypes. Also added some interesting facts about how the factories disposed of left over uniforms, would you believe they were sold at retail?

Check out this cool as heck Eclipso custom or Joe's newest creation, Iron Man!

DC Direct is releasing an Isis Action Figure, sorry it's not as cute as ours.
Bill talks about the last WGSH figure he needs.

Mego Museum Presents the King Kong Galleries

The Mego Museum King Kong Gallery
Nothing is better than unveiling a new gallery at the Museum but it's just a slightly better experience when the subject matter is one of the greatest movie characters of all time. The New Mego Museum King Kong gallery shows Mego at it's creative peak, not content to be the "500 lb Gorilla" in the action figure aisle, Mego was setting itself for total toy store domination.

Please let us know your thoughts at the Museum Forums.

Logical Sneak Preview: In case you didn't notice from Friday, Scott snuck the next set of Megomuseum Trading Cards into his Enterprise thread.

This Fall on the Megomuseum will be an amazing time for Megoheads, new interviews, more photos, new articles and a brand new section for the Museum that will blow your mind! Stay tuned!

And don't miss the new Mego Star Trek artwork Scott has created at the bottom of the page, it's fantastic!

Cool Mego Customs for a Wednesay

We have an amazing Custom Mego Blog that is so well done it has had me really focused on the custom section of our forum.

What's great about the customs forum is I have watched people grow as artists over the years and the scope of characters change from the weekly Flash and Daredevil to a broadening variety. Here are some great examples....

Gene simmons Mego custom

The guys chose the custom of the week to be Bryan Bossart's amazing Gene Simmons, click on the pic for more detail from this sucker, it's just great!

This Captain Action Version of the Punisher is really something to behold, a real marriage of ideas new and vintage.
Joe AKA Thunderbolt has created another amazing DC character, this time it's Aquaman's evil half brother, The Ocean Master! Somehow Joe manages to elicit a cool vibe out of a normally goofy looking character, great job!
Usually the only detectives we get are the Dark Knight, this week we get two of the greats, Holmes and Poirot courtesy of Other Dude, whose customs never let us down in detail or subject matter!
Bob did another nice job with Marvel Bronze age character Damian Hellstorm, the Son of Satan.
This is the content that happened this week, I don't know how the guys pick just one figure for "Custom of the Week" like they do, I don't envy them with the amazing amount of talent that is present at our custom Mego forums.
